Case Study: Visit Japan

This was a conceptual project, which was also part of a self-initiated learning process of learning the complete Web Design process completely from start to finish.

Normally, I work with pre-built templates to save time for clients. However, on this occasion I sought to start designing from scratch. As expected, I worked with what I personally deemed to be the most appropriate languages – HTML5/CSS3/jQuery. By doing this, I managed to achieve implementation of responsive elements.

With regards to images, this was surprisingly straightforward as I, to the best of my personal judgement, was able to find the sweet spot in managing image file size whilst also managing as much image quality as possible.

On the other hand, constraints I had encountered included cross device testing and having to repeatedly revisit my media queries in order to optimise appropriately.

Finally, I work on a Dell XPS 15 which runs Windows 10, so understandably testing for Safari was somewhat … impossible. In order to get around this, I managed to test on Safari using VMware Workstation.
